This is particularly relevant to AR10-type rifles such as these, which tend to be front-heavy due to the use of long, heavy, metal handguards. Barrel mass is also a consideration; in a traditional AR10-type rifle, the shooter must balance their desired muzzle velocity with the weight that will be imparted by a longer, heavy-contour steel barrel.
